I usually do the exercise to help calm my nervous system, lower stress and increase mindfulness. It is a handy tool for me to relax or prepare for sleep. When doing this respiration exercise, I focus on feeling air flowing from my nose to my body, feeling it is a beautiful moment. You may like to try it. Here is the process:
- Sit or lie down in a comfortable position. Keep the back straight and shoulders relaxed.
- Close my eyes and focus on breathing. Let the body relax with each breath.
- Deeply breathe in, slowly breathe out.
- Calmly breathe in and comfortably breathe out.
- Smilingly breathe in, happily breathe out all anxiety.
- Deeply breathe in, slowly breathe out
- Repeat 3 times
