NLP can facilitate our life to be better. I found that NLP techniques of “Anchor” and “Submodialities” work well to change a negative state to be a resourceful state through a simple self-hypnosis method.

First, find a quiet place, sit comfortably, close your eyes and take a deep breath. Inhale four times and exhale four times. Repeat three times.

You feel an energy flow in your body through your head, face, neck, shoulders, back, legs, arms, and down to your fingertips and toes. Feel how anxiety and stress flow out of your body with every breath. Take your time to let the negative emotions get out of your body with your breath. When you feel relaxed, recall the memories that make you happy and enjoyable. For example, you are in a beautiful garden or a green jungle with fragrant flowers and singing birds; Sitting on the clean and soft beach to watch the blue sea; Dancing with the aurora and so on. Imagine every detail of the scenes: what do you see? what did you hear? what do you feel? Take your time to feel and enjoy this super-pleasant emotion.

Now add some of your favorite colors to what you see, enlarge the size of the image, make it three-dimensional, get closer and closer to you, and add some music that you feel is suitable to make the image more lively. Bring that image to life and feel that emotion more intensely. When you feel the energy flowing joyfully in your body, allow that energy to spread faster in your body and become more intense, extremely intense. . . When this feeling is at its peak, just cross your fingers together. Continue to perceive your body.

Repeat this exercise three times at once, preferably for a week, to hypnotize yourself in this way, to strengthen the neural network that makes you happy so that this wonderful feeling is firmly linked to your crossing ten fingers. Where you need it, just this gesture can evoke that feeling. It is your emotional first aid kit.

You can also use any other object as an emotional first aid kit. No matter what it is, you must first connect this object with the wonderful feeling you want to have in a self-hypnotic way to form an “anchor”. When you see this “anchor” or imagine it in your mind, the neural network linked to it will activate, thereby changing your current state to be a “Resourceful State”. When you are in this state, your subconscious will also help you relieve stress and actively help you find solutions to problems.
